SIMPLE DECORATING: DIY CLIPBOARD
SIMPLE DECORATING: DIY CLIPBOARD
Hello, friends! I’m knee deep in decorating my daughters room at home, and just had to share this fun inspirational clipboard I just made.
Apparently clipboards are all the rage with paper crafting these days and guess what . . . I approve. I LOVE them, especially when they come with gold polka-dots!
This DIY clipboard is super easy to make and requires just a few supplies. You probably already have most of them on hand!

This DIY clipboard is super easy to make and requires just a few supplies. You probably already have most of them on hand!
- Standard size clipboard
- Inspirational quote
- Scrapbook paper
- Adhesive
- Scissors
- Embellishments
Feel free to use whatever paper you have on hand! All of my supplies were easy to find at my local craft store.
To get started, first print or trim an inspirational saying to 7”x7”. Place it on your clipboard, but don’t adhere it down yet.
Next, trim some pennant pieces with your scissors that will be placed under your quote. I made mine 3”-4” in length, but if you are working with paper scraps just do whatever looks good.
After trimming your pennant pieces, attach them along with your quote to your clipboard with adhesive. I like to layer pennant pieces, so just lay them out however you feel they look good visually. Also, if you use the same gold clipboard, consider one patterned paper and one solid, just to balance it better.
After you have laid everything out and adhered it on, embellish your clipboard as desired. I am totally crushing on gold sequins right now. I use them on EVERYTHING! I used some of my favorite gold sequins, and additional embellishments that I just had laying around my craft room.
When you are ready to hand your clipboard up, use a nail at the top, or a few adhesive pop dots on the back to adhere it to your wall.
That’s it! I love how it turned out, and my daughter is so excited to hang it in her room. If you want to be able to rotate your inspiration saying, just adhere all the paper together, and then clip it into your clipboard instead of gluing it all down. Clipboards are a really fun way to rate décor for the holidays! Dang… now I want to pick up a few more!
